On the same day, Dilyan Georgiev<\/strong> was searched and detained, and a search was carried out at Toni Ivanov’s<\/strong> home by prosecutors of the former Specialized Prosecutor’s Office and investigators from StSlS, BIRD.BG learned. The common thing between the two is that they have assisted a witness to testify before a foreign service against Delyan Peevski, Petyo Euro and Delta Guard<\/strong> (a company of Mitko Karatesta<\/strong>). <\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, Toni Ivanov is abroad and Dilyan Georgiev has a police detention order for 24 hours. The two are being investigated in two separate pre-trial proceedings, which at least formally have no connection with each other. However, the actions against them from March 7, 2023 bear all the hallmarks of a punitive operation to intimidate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both actions of the prosecutor’s office passed without being allowed to visit the searches lawyers of the affected persons. An eyewitness to Georgiev’s arrest at his home in the capital’s Dianabat district claims that documents, money and drugs were planted there during the search. A lawyer representing Tony Ivanov insisted on attending the procedural actions in the house where he lives for rent on Tsarigradsko shose Str. Old Belovodski road in kv. Boyana, but she was refused. <\/span><\/p>\n

The actions of the investigators were carried out in the conditions of serious procedural violations, which casts doubt on the hypothesis that they aim for a long-term result. <\/span>According to information from BIRD.BG, confirmed by various sources, Toni Ivanov and Dilyan Georgiev have assisted a witness to travel abroad and testify before a foreign office, implicating Petyo Evto, Delyan Peevski and Dimitar Spasov, former owner of Delta Guard, in crimes.<\/p>\n

Who is Peevski’s “blackmailer”?<\/h2>\n

In 2019, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office detained Dilyan Georgiev and Romanian citizen Dorin Iordache on charges of blackmailing Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan with a report by the French services on their involvement in cigarette smuggling and financing terrorist organizations. For 12 million euros, they proposed the report not to be sent to the European institutions and the names of politicians to be deleted. 10 million euros should have gone to a “French prosecutor” investigating the smuggling, and two million to the “blackmailers,” Bivol writes<\/a>, who first reported on the affair.<\/span><\/p>\n

The prosecutor in the case was Evgenia Stankova, famous for the “terrorist sprinklers” in front of parliament in the case “NAPLeeks”, and the chief witness of the prosecution turned out to be Ivan Petleshkov<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Petleshkov appears as a central figure in a reference<\/a> to unregulated connections of senior police officers with drug lord Christoforos Amanatidis \u2013 Taki<\/strong>. According to the author of the report published by the BIRD.BG, Petleshkov paid an expensive holiday in Cuba to the head of the Homicide Department in the GDNP, Mikhail Naumov, who in turn passed through him to Taki information from the SSD and put an umbrella over the investigations related to the crime boss.<\/span><\/p>\n

The detention of Georgiev and Iordache ended quietly with an agreement with the prosecutor’s office. The third defendant in this case is a Romanian businessman with French citizenship Ovidiu Semenescu, who is abroad and has a European Arrest Warrant issued against him. <\/span><\/p>\n

When we said we didn’t, they said, “Leave your things.” They began to search the whole apartment and quite accidentally after an hour and a half – two next to the sofa they found a bag. It wasn’t even hidden. About 50,000 euros and drugs were found inside. As well as some notes.”<\/span><\/p>\n

They’re written on a computer, and Dilyan doesn’t even have a computer. They seized 3 laptops, but they are mine, old and do not work. I told them: it has never worked on a computer and I do not believe it will ever work at all. They also found in the bag two flash drives, wrapped in sheets caught with elastics. On one was written Mitko, on the other Dimitar S and that the Americans were behind him. In the lists they found in the money, chaotically were written names in Bulgarian and English – Dorin and Tony Perfume. It was written about Belgrade that there is funding for the cause, Kasketa, so, so … that for the moment no radical methods will be used… <\/span><\/p>\n

Who is Tony Ivanov?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Toni Ivanov Ivanov is a construction entrepreneur from Varna, who is said to be close to “We continue the Change”. Toni Ivanov rents in a house in Boyana, which is owned by the mother of the famous Mila Georgieva<\/strong>, accused in Romania of stealing 26 million euros of money to feed the socially disadvantaged, together with Ivan Tanev – the Universal<\/strong>. An investigation by Bivol and its Romanian partner Rise Romania, published in OCCRP, showed<\/a> that part of the money had returned to Bulgaria and was laundered in luxury acquisitions and trips, real estate and the acquisition of a pellet factory. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike Romania, in Bulgaria Mila Georgieva and her accomplices are not even pre-trial proceedings. That is why the information about procedural actions on her property aroused interest and our reporter visited the property and documented the massive police presence. Attendees refused information about what was happening, and operatives even put on hoods. A gray bus was also on the spot, detected on other shares of the already disbanded Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n

It turned out that the actions of the prosecution there are not related to Georgieva and the Romanian affair, but to a completely different person – the tenant of the property Tony Ivanov.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am not in Bulgaria at the moment and I cannot understand how someone is allowed to enter without the permission of the owner or the person who rents the house and separately a lawyer is not allowed to go inside. So, 20 days ago there was again a “criminal action” in which the whole house was searched, maybe 30 people went inside.<\/span><\/p>\n

“There were probably 20 people, two buses, police cars at the door, another van arrived in an hour. There was a bus of the GDNP, of the National Investigation Service. Two investigating officers did not allow me, although I had a power of attorney to represent the client, they said they would not allow me. They called the phones, came back, apparently I had the discomfort to “do their job” in quotation marks. In the end, they wouldn’t let me in. I stayed there for over two hours. A lot of people came into the house. They said they were faces. There are, in principle, two people. And they came in two investigating officers, then four or five more. There were forensic scientists they told me because I asked who these people were. I asked what would be done in an empty house when I represented the client I wanted to see what they were going to do, but they said they had investigative actions. I asked what. They didn’t answer.”<\/span><\/p>\n
