Even more scandalous is that <\/span>Mavrodiev has been a resident in Dubai since March 2017<\/strong><\/span>, months before he became head of the state-owned BDB. This<\/span>is revealed by new data on property owners and tenants in Dubai, processed by the international investigation “<\/span>Dubai<\/a><\/span> Unlocked” with the participation of <\/span>OCCRP<\/a><\/span>, BIRD.BG journalists from 75 media outlets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The apartment used by <\/span>Stoyan Mavrodiev<\/strong><\/span> has an area of just over 102 sq.m. in the building “Lamtara 1”, which is located in the luxury <\/span>complex<\/a><\/span> Madina Jumeirah Living. The complex is close to the famous Jumeirah Beach and Burj Al Arab Hotel. It is in the shape of a stretched sail of a floating boat (in the lead photo). A real estate agency manages properties of investors in the complex and offers the so-called. “ready to move in” apartments. <\/span><\/p>\n

The rent of Mavrodiev’s apartment is 45,300 euros per year (180,000 AED). This makes 3,775 euros monthly rent for 102 sq.m. in the luxury complex. The lease agreement is a one-year term until August 29, 2024. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the data from Dubai Unlocked, Stoyan Mavrodiev’s phone number is indicated, but it is answered by another person who does not know him. In August 2024, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SCC) announced that it was accusing <\/span>Stoyan Mavrodiev,<\/b> businessman <\/span>Rumen Gaitanski – the Wolf<\/b>, of embezzlement on a particularly large scale<\/p>\n

and lawyer Ivan Georgiev. The charge was brought because of <\/span>non-performing<\/a><\/span> BGN 150 million loan<\/b> granted by BDB to Gaitanski’s company. BIRD <\/span><\/a> revealed in May 2022 that the Wolf had collected BGN 46 million in his personal account from BDB and bought a yacht for over 1 million euros.<\/span> At the moment, there is no information whether the Bulgarian authorities are looking for <\/span>Stoyan Mavrodiev<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

whether a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) has been issued and whether Interpol’s assistance has been sought. The only announcement is about <\/span>Reclusive <\/a><\/span>in Bulgaria. The court records do not contain a request from the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the issuance of an EAW. <\/span><\/p>\n

Head of BDB – resident in Dubai<\/span><\/h2>\n

In the summer, after 6 years of hiding, Brendo <\/span><\/a> reported himself in the Sofia Central Prison.<\/span> Stoyan Mavrodiev’s villas<\/a> in Halkidiki<\/b> are also associated <\/span>with <\/span>offshore companies<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

After the recording became public, Mavrodiev filed a report with the Prosecutor’s Office (e.g. 17276\/2020 Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office) against Lambovski for extortion (?!), but then – no matter how unbelievable it is – the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office refused to deal with it. At the same time, during the <\/span>Ivan Geshev<\/b>, the prosecutor’s office crushes the signal against Mavrodiev for tax evasion and money laundering filed by BOETS (e.g. pr. 18292\/2021 Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office). The motives of the anonymous supervising prosecutor to refuse to initiate criminal proceedings remain hidden. And <\/span>The euro and Mavrodiev are hiding<\/b> to<\/span> this day.<\/p>\n

The landlord – Visadjia, a man of Joro Iliev<\/span><\/h2>\n

Chavdar Alexandrov – Nessebarski<\/b>, as the locals call him, also known as Alexandrov, at the tender age of 20 he became known as a nouveau riche millionaire and the handsome young man next to the boss of VIS-2 Georgi Iliev. In the past, he had ambitions to conquer the local government. In 2007 he created the business party “DELA”, which subsequently in 2011. <\/span>flows into the<\/a><\/span> Coat of arms. In the same year, in the local elections, an associate of Alexandrov was <\/span><\/a> arrested for <\/span>buying votes<\/b>.<\/span> In 2015. <\/span>Chavdar Alexandrov was arrested<\/a> for beating<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

His construction companies, hotels, <\/span>airline<\/a><\/span> with <\/span>a private jet<\/b>, <\/span>yachts and<\/b> real estate, are in liquidation, bankruptcy or have new owners.<\/span> However, this does not apply to Dubai, where <\/span>Nessebar<\/b><\/p>\n

spend your money. Thanks to the international investigation “Unlocked Dubai”, BIRD is now able to establish his serious investments in several luxury properties – apartments and villas, incl. on the “Palm” – the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. <\/span><\/p>\n

BIRD tried to contact Chavdar Alexandrov for comment. We also sent him a text message, but no response was received until the editorial end of the article. <\/span><\/p>\n
