Filipov and Bozhanov were co-owners, although not overtly, of the Strimon Garden Hotel in Kyustendil, Karavalchev also claims. Bozhanov&#8217;s widow claimed that <strong>Pepi the Euro<\/strong> was responsible for the execution of the &#8220;Notary&#8221;, but it is strange that she took as a lawyer the son of <strong>Taki&#8217;s lawyer<\/strong>, who is connected with the Euro through <b>Razmig Chakaryan &#8211; <\/b><strong>Ami<\/strong>. She is one of the five children of Martin Bozhanov. She maintained a close relationship with him before he was executed. Within about 45 days, her father was first killed, then she herself became a target, according to her.     <\/span><b>She was warned by the State Agency for National Security<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that he should be careful because he is at risk. As a source of the danger, Maria Bozhanova points to Gergana Bozhanova &#8211; the widow of her father and his ex-partner   <\/span><b>Nikolay Filipov &#8211; Niki the Customs Officer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his only public appearance, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=s9AB64RjXJY\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an interview<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  in front of Nova TV, Maria Bozhanova apparently makes it clear that a serious conflict is brewing between her and Gergana, her father&#8217;s last wife. The subject of the dispute is several companies left by the deceased to his wife and five children. Maria Bozhanova revealed to BIRD details about the relationship between her father and    <\/span><b>Gergana Bozhanova<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who is a junior investigating <\/span><b>police officer from the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in maternity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I will start my story from 12 years ago, when I met his wife Gergana. The two have had a conflict since their earliest youth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Then he just started a relationship with Gergana again. When he went to her to persuade her to get together, she told him in front of several people, &#8220;I will never forget what he did to me a few years ago. For one day he left me without money, without a car, without an apartment, without a job. Such a thing is never forgiven.&#8221; Gergana, however, apparently found strength from somewhere and overcame this disappointment and reunited with him. For these years from 2017-2018 until now, she and my father have never had a relationship as a couple in love. There was no love between them. I have told him this too. She knew it very well, too. There the relationship was because of Adriana. She had a very big intolerance for Gergana and my father wanted to repay her for this with Gencho and knew that this was the way. On the other hand, he saw that she (Gergana) was easy to use for other purposes and means.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the last months of his life, Bozhanov rarely went home to Gergana, according to Maria, due to the lack of home comfort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;When this happened to my father, I did not understand from her, my friends called me. My friends called me. I watched a movie at home, I didn&#8217;t watch the news. They told me that this thing happened to my father and to turn on the news immediately. I got hysterical and they called her because she is the person who lives with him. I call and roar and ask her if there was a mistake. She said to me in her calmest voice, &#8220;Maria, it&#8217;s true, it happened, but I can&#8217;t talk at the moment, we&#8217;ll hear from you tomorrow.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next day, Bozhanov&#8217;s widow did not answer calls from his daughter. She wrote to her that they would hear from each other when she could. On February 2, three days after the murder, Gergana called her and invited her to her home at Gloria Palace. When Maria entered their house, Gergana told her that they should talk about the inheritance and she would tell her how things would happen. She explained to her that she had to sign some documents and admit her to the companies that are here in Bulgaria. For the one in Greece, she said that she had to sign and transfer her share to her father&#8217;s partner &#8211; Nikolay Filipov. Maria insists that at least 40 days have passed since her father&#8217;s death, but Gergana claims that these things were urgent.      <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The customs officer was fired and appointed to the state<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gergana asked Maria if she knew who exactly the partner of the late Bozhanov was and warned that Filipov was a very serious person and if he planned to disagree with what he wanted, there would be very serious problems. She explained to her that this is a person who appoints and dismisses high-ranking people in a state. He had many positions in the public and private sectors. Then Gergana told her that she hoped Adriana and Gencho would be able to   <\/span><b><i>to make them interesting<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;, because Nikolay Filipov would &#8220;<\/span><b><i>ruin them and sink them<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maria Bozhanova says that she knew from her father that he<\/span><b>, Martin Bozhanov and Nikolay Filipov, were partners<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and had bought <\/span><b>a property in Greece<\/b> together<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, through the company &#8220;Hades NM&#8221;. This was land on which they had to build. Maria asked for a meeting with Filipov, but Gergana explained to her that it was impossible. To Maria&#8217;s great surprise, Filipov did not appear at her father&#8217;s funeral.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even before the conflict over Bozhanov&#8217;s assets arose, Maria had some extremely disturbing moments around her father&#8217;s death. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Gergana calls an ambulance, she finds my father. She says that my father went out to get dinner. It&#8217;s not true. My father was out all the time. He has had some meetings before. Then he went to dinner and called her to ask her if she wanted dinner from where he was, for her and for the child \u2013 for my brother. She had just given birth, not to bother cooking. She most likely told him that she wanted. She claims that my father is delaying too much and she turns on the cameras to see if he came because he was delayed. I thought about this thing for a very long time. In my way of logic, it is much more adequate to call a person if he has been delayed to hear where he is, and not to turn on the cameras to look for him.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most frequently mentioned as a potential guarantor of the &#8220;Notary&#8221; is Petyo Petrov &#8211; the Euro. However, Maria claims that he was not the subject of conversations between her and her father. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;My father did not talk to me about this man. We discussed only when &#8220;The Eight Dwarfs&#8221; came out. We have not discussed and he told me that there are problems with him. We have just discussed what the situation is, that what is happening is not O.K. That all the torture that is happening to Yavor Zlatanov is not normal. Here comes another strange thing. When this happened to my father, I asked Gergana if my father was worried. One day before, a few days before this one? Not! He didn&#8217;t even carry his guns with him. I haven&#8217;t seen my father for 10 years without walking armed. He had permits, he carried a weapon. Since my father did not carry his weapons, he was very calm. However, suddenly, for reasons unknown to me, Gergana began to talk to me &#8220;your father was very worried, Pepi the Euro was in Bulgaria, he came to see the murder of your father, he came to see what he did to him. Pepi the Euro did it.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Maria, in the first days after Bozhanov&#8217;s murder, his widow constantly changed her theories. Gergana claimed to Maria that Pepi had sent the Euro &#8221; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">some candles<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; of the Notary, but his daughter had not heard such a thing from her father.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A day after the murder of the &#8220;Notary&#8221;, Gergana went to the Capitol car dealership and tried to trade Bozhanov&#8217;s cars. They were owned by legal entities and she tried to conclude simulated transactions in order to collect the &#8220;top&#8221; only for herself. However, the owner kicked her out, says Maria. This happened around 09:30 a.m. on February 1 \u2013 a few hours after the execution of her husband. When Maria subsequently asked her about this incident, in front of witnesses \u2013 other heirs of the &#8220;Notary&#8221;, Gergana answered her &#8221;    <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything is mine, I decide who gets what. None of you will set foot on a property that is mine. You won&#8217;t get anything.  <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conflict of heirs<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maria and Gergana maintained a smooth relationship until about a month after Martin Bozhanov&#8217;s death. She had said that Maria had to come to her senses, otherwise the consequences for her would be very serious and irreversible. It is very strange that I was never summoned to be questioned about the murder of my father (two days after the recording, Maria Bozhanova was summoned and subsequently interrogated at the Sofia Police Department).&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bozhanov&#8217;s daughter was only summoned to the Internal Security (DVS) on her own signal against Gergana, who is still an employee of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime. The reason for the signal is threats made in front of witnesses against Maria. A prosecutor&#8217;s probe 14101\/2024 was opened at the Sofia City Prosecutor&#8217;s Office on the signal. It is monitored by prosecutor Kalin Bliznakov, who is associated with     <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ime.bg\/articles\/otnovo-za-vyzmozhnostta-da-se-tyrsi-imushtestvena-otgovornost-ot-magistrat-za-vredi-prichineni-ot-sluzhebni-dejstviya-i-postanoveni-aktove\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sad proceedings<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against Rosen Bosev and the case for the non-murder <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bird.bg\/peevski-killers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Peevski<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before the investigators, Anna confirmed that her daughter Maria and she had been repeatedly warned by Stoyka Petrova-Maners that they would have problems with Nikolay Filipov. However, Maria&#8217;s grandmother told investigators that in her presence Nikolay Filipov and Gergana Bozhanova had never made threats against Maria Bozhanova. This statement by Stoyka Parvanova Petrova-Maners indirectly confirms that the widow of the &#8220;Notary&#8221; and Filipov apparently spend a lot of time together. Gergana Bozhanova also denies that she threatened Maria, much less with Nikolay Filipov.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most significant is probably the information of Nikolay Filipov &#8211; Niki the Customs Officer, who states that he does not know Maria Bozhanova and never wanted to deal with her. Before the investigators, Filipov stated that Martin Bozhanov had not given any funds for the property in Halkidiki. However, the daughter of &#8220;The Notary&#8221; and Filipov&#8217;s partner claim that Bozhanov invested money in this venture.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scan.bird.bg\/tr\/?v=view&amp;guid=241bc0d20630c66133180fcb4b00c305a27d20edbf04a840be0adfb5464e4c2c&amp;p2=6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valentin Damyanov Karavalchev<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; a former friend and partner of Filipov testified that <\/span><b>the property in Greece<\/b>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in his opinion, was a conscientious <\/span><b>business venture of the Notary and Niki the Customs Officer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (the Quail):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;One gives money and the other gives money. Because cash was arriving, which I knew was from Martin Bozhanov. They arrived at the black box for people or the colleague was carrying them &#8211; Nikolay Filipov &#8211; the Quail. The hypothesis that Bozhanov did not have money is insane.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many believe that Bozhanov and Filipov bought land and decided to build a gated complex in Halkidiki in order to pay Filipov with certain factors in the judiciary after <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dariknews.bg\/novini\/bylgariia\/zadyrzhaha-krupen-burgaski-biznesmen-proveriavat-se-vryzkite-mu-s-bozhkov-2239151\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">his arrest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  According to Karavalchev, however, this project was a joint commercial venture of the two. Maria Bozhanova testified that the property in Greece is not the only co-ownership of her father with Filipov. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I know from my father that he and Nikolay Filipov were very close, that he helped him in such a way that no one else can help him. If you ask me what that means, I don&#8217;t know. Those were my father&#8217;s words. He also told me that they have a hotel together in Kyustendil and have land in Greece. During the time when the purchase of these things happened, my father shared it with me.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valentin Karavalchev is the man who sheds light on this new detail. For a long time he was one of Filipov&#8217;s closest associates, but today he claims that he was misled and deceived by the big businessman. Karavalchev says that he, Filipov and Bozhanov bought a hotel &#8221;  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/strimon.bg\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strymon Garden<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; in Kyustendil. However <\/span><b>  Niki Customs Officer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  (The quail) asked to transfer the property to a fictitious owner. Kiril Dobrev did not understand that they wanted to buy the hotel. For this reason, Filipov wanted to put his partner, who was also in partnership with Karavalchev, as a &#8220;straw man&#8221;. So     <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/scan.bird.bg\/tr\/?v=view&amp;guid=bird_91da6c1bbd5d6623d82380d3621f8bad38d3c7637a1b9c9e90d11e275cc4e5a6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrejs Chlaidze<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who is a foreign citizen who has taken on the role of an investor. The Latvian appears in the Commercial Register as Andrej and as Andrejs. He is associated as owner or manager with 17 companies, and most of them are directly or indirectly related to Nikolay Filipov. An example in this direction is &#8221;   <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/scan.bird.bg\/tr\/?v=view&amp;guid=204621138\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AB Avatari Security<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; Ltd. Initially, Karavalchev did not know that Bozhanov was also a co-owner in the newly acquired hotel, but Filipov accidentally informed him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;In 2022, it was about fixing his affairs and then he told me that Marto, the colleague, had included him in the hotel (Strimon) and this was his share. It amounts to 50% of the value of the hotel.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valentin Karavalchev met Martin Bozhanov about two years before his death, but before that he &#8220;knew him in absentia&#8221; because of his partner. The relationship between Martin Bozhanov and Nikolay Filipov dates back to 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;He is the man who is waiting for the &#8220;Quail&#8221; in front of the arrest. From his phone, &#8220;The Quail&#8221; calls his wife and everyone he thinks is to say that everything is O.K. and to set the table.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After his arrest in September 2020, Filipov was released on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/banker.bg\/2020\/09\/05\/pusnaha-ot-aresta-biznesmena-nikolai-filipov-sreshtu-100-000-leva-garanciia\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bail<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the charges against him are looping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is hidden by Nikolay Filipov&#8217;s black box and what details about their relationship with Bozhanov are kept there.
