I have a man in BFSA, I have a man in GERB, I have a Golden Laboratory

Kapitan Andreevo’s “Golden Laboratory” has solid connections in BFSA and GERB , show new data studied by BIRD. The connection in the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency /BFSA/ is the head of the Legal Directorate Anita Pashova. Her daughter Monika Pashova lives in cohabitation with Pavel Petkov, alleged to be the “right hand” of Razmig Chakarian AKA Ami and was a parliamentary adviser to MP Georgi Stankov from GERB.

The topic of the lucrative business with the trucks entering the EU at the boarder crossing Kapitan Andreevo is not from yesterday. Over the years, journalistic investigations have accumulated on the Golden Swamp – where the trucks cross for desinfection , the laboratory analyses of agricultural production – Golden Laboratory and the Golden Parking Lots, where the trucks are unloaded, wait for the results of the analyses and are loaded again. The three activities are managed by private firms associated with Krasimir Kamenov – Karo and Razmig Chakarian – Ami. For three years, there has been a conflict between the two, which is a reflection of the greater conflict between Karo and his longtime partner. Christoforos Nikos Amanatidis AKA Taki.

The monopolization of these multimillion-dollar profit-making activities has clearly had a political umbrella over the years. Which political entities have stretched it was evident in a debate in the parliamentary Committee against Corruption, where GERB and ITN defended a representative of “The Golden Laboratory“. The eviction of “Taki-Maki“(in the words of a former head of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency) from Kapitan Andreevo and the return of the state there brought to light ugly processes and dependencies. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ivan Hristanov and the Head of BFSA prof. Hristo Daskalov publicly announced that they were offered impressive bribes so as not to spoil the scheme. It came to claims that it was the scandal “Kapitan Andreevo” that was the reason for the overthrow of the government “Petkov”.

However, some of the players in the scheme have so far remained under the radar. Key is the role of Anita Pashova – the longtime head of the Legal Directorate at the BFSA, who is still there and the political purge of “The Change” somehow passed her by. It is she who is responsible for the scandalous contract with the company “
Eurolab 2011
“, which the agency concluded on the last working day of 2021, without this company having accreditation to perform laboratory analyzes.

Anita Pashova has a daughter Monica and a son Timmy, all three of whom are registered at the same address in Petrich with Iliya Pashov – Head of the municipal service “Agriculture” in the southern city. Pashov is part of the EU funds fraud group, hit by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office last year. His relationship with Anita is not fully understood, but it is a fact. More important, however, are the relationships of the daughter Monica.

In her profile on the social network LinkedIn, Monika Pashova presented herself briefly in 2012 as a cadre of the BFSA.

Several, independent sources declared to BIRD.BG that to date Monika Pashova lives with Pavel Dimitrov Petkov – a key figure in the business structure of Razmig Chakaryan. His name appeared in the media after Attack over a team of Nova TV on Trakia highway. After the 2017 incident, it was Pavel Petkov who came out with a public
opinion
on the attack and “strongly condemns the aggression on the roads”.

In 2020 the newspaper “Trud” alarmed about the growing conflict between Krassimir Nikolaev Kamenov – Karo and Razmig Chakarian – Ami. The publication publishes details who exactly is Pavel Dimitrov Petkov in
a publication
dedicated to the connection between the accused of the murder of Stanka Marangozova Ivo Maslarov and Razmig Chakaryan.

At the time of publication of “Trud” newspaper Pavel Dimitrov Petkov is no longer the owner of the compromised security company “Omega 69““. He left the company after the beating of journalists from Nova TV. Pavel Petkov acquired the shares in “Omega 69” from Karo’s ex-wife Svetlana Kamenova. This happened at a time when she was in a particularly close relationship with Razmig Chakarian and with a high degree of probability Petkov acted as a strawman to Chakaryan.

The relationship of Pashova and Petkov would not be of interest to our team if Monika were not the daughter of Anita Pashova, but also an assistant of GERB MP Georgi Tenev Stankov in the 44th National Assembly (until March 2021).

The latter is also the director of the Regional Food Safety Agency in Haskovo, when he is not a member of parliament. Investigation of BIRD.BG revealed recordings in which Stankov pressured competitors of the “Kapitan Andreevo Holding” and maintained his monopoly. In this investigation, Stankov declared that the documentary owner of “Eurolab 2011” – Vasil Dimitrov is only a “representative” and behind him stand third parties. Perhaps Georgi Stankov is referring to Chakarian.

Earlier, BIRD drew attention to other connections of the group “Taki-Maki” with GERB. Razmig Chakarian is a partner with Miroslav Petkov, who in turn is a partner with Iskra Angelova – advisor in the Sofia Municipal Council from GERB. And the brother of the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rositsa Kirova (GERB) is close to Taki himself.
