Lambovski in a new recording: Borisov took 30% of BDB’s loan to the collector company

The famous former banker and MP Dimitar Lambovski is recorded saying that former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has taken a commission from the loan of the Bulgarian Development Bank for the collection company “S.G. Group”. He also claims that one of the houses in Greece he sold to Stoyan Mavrodiev was for Boyko Borisov, who wanted to move his mistress there from Barcelona. When he gave such testimony in the Sofia Directorate of Interior, the file against him at the signal of Stoyan Mavrodiev was terminated.

The recording was made in a restaurant where Lambovski was talking to others. He was handed over to the BRRD by a source who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Lambovski’s claim that BDB has given Shishko (meaning companies related to Delyan Peevski) loans worth 500 million was officially confirmed by the caretaker government in recent days. Completely new, however, is the claim that Borisov has taken money from the loan of 75 million given to “SG Group”. “She took 30%, do you think Boyko didn’t take 30%?”

The public learned about the scandalous loan from a publication of Capital newspaper in the spring of 2020. The stormy public reaction prompted Borisov to change the leadership of the Bulgarian Development Bank. Ousted director Stoyan Mavrodiev then commented that the prime minister had been misled. But Lambovski’s interpretation is that Borisov was worried about being lit up in the scheme.

“If you remember the morning press conference of your brother Boyko, why don’t you ask me about BDB, which gave the SG GROUP a collector like this… Here’s the whole guide, why? She took 30%, do you think Boyko did not take 30%? But he saw that there were things to him (…) could be so-and-so… But at least they didn’t lock it up for now.”

The recording also comments on other famous persons such as Pepi the Euro – “one of the biggest settlers”, who lost favor with “Delyancho” and would “buckle” him because he had not fulfilled his commitments. “Delyancho” himself also had problems. This prediction of Lambovski has not come true so far.

Contacted by phone, Dimitar Lambovski denied that he had spoken about a commission received from Boyko Borisov. He also denied that in his explanations given to the Sofia Directorate of the Interior on the signal of Stoyan Mavrodiev against him he wrote about Borisov’s mistress. After studying the transcription of the recording, he returned a call saying: “There is no such recording. Whoever says he has, prove it.”

… but there is another record

In early April this year, the Civil Association BOETS released another recording of Lambovski with the former head of the FSC and BDB Stoyan Mavrodiev. It hears how “Shishi does not give” Borisov’s government to resign and have early elections. It is also heard that Lambovski negotiated with Mavrodiev loans from BDB from which to “pinch 4-500 thousand” through a scheme with re-invoicing machines. Projects with European money are also mentioned. There are also details about how Mavrodiev bought from Lambovski a house in Greece – with a large amount of cash (50,000 euros) carried across the border, an even larger amount of cash (200,000 €) paid in Bulgaria and a transfer from an offshore company.

Stoyan Mavrodiev reacted to the recording by calling it a fake and editing and threatening to sue the media that published it. Lambovski did not deny what was said. So far, there are no actions of law enforcement authorities on indications of crimes, although BOETS has officially filed a signal with the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office and also with the European Prosecutor’s Office of Laura Kovesi.
