Milk with brand Brendo: A drug lord’s man is behind a company from the LB Bulgaricum scandal

The company “Home for U” – the sole property of Vilor Hristov – boasts on its website of one of its largest projects the luxury complex Oasis Resort & SPA, associated with Brendo and the Cypriot offshore company “Balandra Holding Limited”. The Oasis complex near Tsarevo is considered to be the materialization of Brendo’s laundered funds from drug trafficking.

When Brendo was arrested in 2012, former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said:

“What the Bulgarian government is doing, we will continue in the same way, without any hesitation towards those representatives of serious organized crime who generated huge financial resources with money laundering, invested in Bulgaria as well. Because, however, let me remind you that yesterday’s detention of Brendo took place in the direction of Burgas to Sozopol and in particular to his nice tourist investment, which he made in Bulgaria at camping “Oasis”

In addition, Milky Group Bio

is the largest producer and importer of dairy products in Bulgaria with a turnover of EUR 230 million. according to a ranking

of Capital 100 for 2021.

In the scandal between the State Consolidation Company (SCC), the former head of the state-owned LB Bulgaricum Nikolay Marinov and the Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov, in addition to Milky Group Bio, the companies White Gold Trade Ltd. and Integral Systems for Automation and Control – I.S.A.K.-BG Ltd. are also mentioned.

50 million VAT fraud of the group of “Milkmen”

The Milkmen’s Group was involved in a VAT fraud scheme in 2012. Then, the already closed company “Milky Group” was owned by Vilor Hristov, and the group was arrested in share “Milkmen”, but remained at large by a decision of the Specialized Court of Appeal. Among those arrested and remained at large was Polya Peeva. The then Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov hinted that the participants in this criminal scheme may have been warned.

1.7 million fine from the CPC for butter “The Two Cows”

In December 2021, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) fined Milky Group Bio BGN 1,694,560 for unfair competition. The decision of the CPC has been appealed and the case is still at first instance in the Administrative Court of Sofia District.
