Talking points of GERB: Position against anti-vaxxers and fight on Kiril Petkov because of BDB

Our editorial office received a document with election promises of PP GERB, as well as a political and propaganda platform entitled “The chaos of Radev’s caretaker government”. The latter is obviously intended for internal party use and is in the form known as “talking points”. It contains 20 pages and is articulated about 7 points: the Political Crisis, the Health Crisis, the Price Crisis, the Infrastructure Crisis, the Delayed Recovery and Sustainability Plan, the Constitutional Violation (of Rumen Radev) and the Document Fraud (of Kiril Petkov).

Most of the talking points of GERB have already been announced in the media by party politicians and Boyko Borisov himself. Unsurprisingly, GERB rejects all allegations of waste and irregularities brought out by the two caretaker governments and surfs on the wave of high electricity and energy prices, which are a global phenomenon. It was used for election propaganda and the crisis with the stranded ship Vera Su.

There are also a few new moments. For example, the party ideologues of GERB take a position against anti-vaccination and criticize the caretaker government for not doing so:

Not having an extreme and firm stance condemning anti-vaccination, especially manipulative propaganda against COVID-19 vaccines, is cowardly behavior that has no place in high levels of government.

The other novelty is that the criticism against Kiril Petkov for his Canadian citizenship has been worked out in great detail on two and a half pages, but especially for the change of leadership of the Bulgarian Development Bank. GERB believes that with these actions he has committed several documentary crimes:

With the submitted documents, Kiril Petkov again declares untruths and lies and for this he again bears criminal responsibility under Art. 31 H of the NC. First of all, he declares that he is a minister and signs the documents as such, and that he exercises the rights to the shares of the bank, which is not the case at the moment. Secondly, it declares the existence of decisions not taken by the supervisory board in force at that time, namely that the same board as the selection committee has approved the nominations deposited with the BNB. Such consideration and such approval has not been made by the acting supervisory board. Untruths have also been declared by Stamen Yanev, who also submits documents to the BNB and lies about the existence of decisions taken by the supervisory board, although he is currently chairman of the same board. Thus, it turns out that for both of them there are also assumptions about committed documentary crimes under art. 308. According to unofficial information, it is claimed that the BNB advises Kiril Petkov and Stamen Yanev verbally to download the documents in order to close the file, otherwise the document crime must be handed over to the prosecutor’s office.

The term “talking points” became popular a few years ago when similar documents leaked in the media, but from the BSP, after the many thousands of protests against the appointment of Delyan Peevski as head of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) broke out.
