The caretaker government made the wife of a GERB MP linked to Peevski the head of the VIK Holding

On 5 July, the acting Minister of Regional Development Violeta Komitova replaced the supervisory board of Bulgarian Water and Sewerage Holding, which manages the water companies in the country. The strange appointments attracted media attention because of the new leadership’s lack of competence in the sector. At the head is the former Minister of Defence in the Stanishev cabinet (from the NDSV quota in the triple coalition) Nikolay Tsonev. The other members are Nadezhda Nikolova and Nikolay Ganev. Nadezhda Nikolova is a former organizational secretary of GERB – Veliko Tarnovo and is the wife of GERB MP Dimitar Stoykov Nikolov, who has a media business associated with Delyan Peevski.

Dimitar Nikolov became the owner of regional media across the country during the media rise of Delyan Peevski and his mother Irene Krasteva. In 2011 he bought “Chernomorski Far” and “Konkurent news” from Tsvetan Angelov Angelov – chairman of the Union of distributors of newspapers and magazines. This union is part of the newly established Union of Newspaper and Magazine Distributors, whose chairman is Delyan Peevski.

Together with Tsvetan Angelov he has joint participations in “Lavina” Ltd. in Vratsa, “Zname” Publishing House in Pazardzhik and “Rodopi” Publishing House Ltd. Dimitar Nikolov is a partner in the company “Ask Me” Ltd, publisher of the local Veliko Tarnovo website Boliarinews with Stiliyan Naydenov. Naydenov is editor-in-chief of the Borba newspaper, 50% owned by Delyan Peevski.

The manager of “Ask Me” Ltd. was Viktor Azmanov, who some time ago acquired a stake in the company for cleaning agents and disinfectants HMI Ltd. under strange circumstances, as Capital reported. A few months later, the wife of Delyan Peevski’s close former MP Kamen Kostadinov joined the owners of the company.

Nikolov has business ties with the businessman Petar Hristov, who was shot in Sofia. Nikolov, through IK Compact Media, is a partner with PJ Finance Ltd. of Borislav Dosev – Petar Hristov’s driver. Nikolov acquired his shares in Face News Ltd. from Properties Management Group, which is also owned by Petar Hristov.
