The new head of the tax office sold to a ‘fiscal mule’ his stake in a company with 1m euros tax debt

In April 2016 Rumen Penkov Spesov from Dobrich sells to Danail Ivanov Nikolov from the Dragoman village of Yablotina 50% of the company “Granex Trader” Ltd. In 2014, the company had a solid turnover of over BGN 6 million, according to the latest annual financial statements of Granex Trader, signed by Spesov. But the following year, sales revenue fell to 510,000. Lv.

The buyer Daniel Ivanov Nikolov owns and manages 25 companies, including others with debts to the NRA. For example, Media Lind has 308,423.98 debt and Agro Mil Trade has BGN 2,639,217.92. debt to the fisc. Over the years, Daniel Nikolov has had dealings with the fisc for debts. It was dealt with by the public executors at the NRA Rusi Palazov and Blazhka Popova in case 28718 from the distant 2004. Everything indicates that Daniel Nikolov is, so to speak, a “professional debtor” or straw person to whom companies with obligations transfer.

It is positive that Rumen Spesov is the head of the NRA as of today. He obviously knows Nikolov and is aware of the schemes for transferring debtor companies to straw people, which will improve the collection of the revenue agency. In favor of this difficult task will be the impressive appearance of Spesov, who is a champion in bodybuilding.
