The underground boss Radostin Barzanov – Rado The Sun, an aver of Taki and Vasil Iliev, who inherited the business of the late visadzhiya Veselin Stoimenov – Vesso Debeliya, has been the owner of the offshore Noriada Business Corp
since 2013registered in the Seychelles, the Pandora Files reveal. The offshore company has no activity in Bulgaria, a check in the Commercial Register showed. Barzanov is associated with
13 companies
in Bulgaria, one of which is
a partner
with Taki’s sister – Aphrodite Borimirova.
The international consortium of investigative journalists ICIJ updated
the database of the Pandora Files with a new large portion of names from Seychelles Alpha Consulting Ltd
, which serves offshore registrations and accounts mainly of Russian clients. The documents leaked by Alpha are over 820,000 and cover the period 1996-2020. Among the new dozens of names of Bulgarians in the database, besides Radostin Barzanov, are: the relatives of a lawyer Momchil Mondeshki, trusted person of Delyan Peevski; Businessman and politician Arben Khavalev, close to Ahmed Dogan; Ivan Stamenov’s brother from “The Eight Dwarfs“; the financial fraudster Ilan Zorya, partner of “The Wolf of Sofia” by Gal Barak, which we have already informed about, as well as many others.
Registrations in the ICIJ Pandora Files database: Arben Khavalev, Georgi Stamenov, Mladen Mondeshki, Petko Mondeshki, Radostin Barzanov and others.
The underground bosses
Radostin Barzanov – Rado The Sun is a former bodyguard of Vasil Iliev and Taki. Barzanov is cited by the prosecutor’s office as the leader of Taki’s sinister drug gang “Hammers”. He currently has a joint business with Aphrodite Niko Borimirova, who is the sister of Christoforos Nikos Amanatidis – Taki.
A curious detail is that Rado Sun’s lawyer in the case against the “Hammers”
is the lawyer of Boyko Borisov and his ministers Menko Menkov – also with an offshore
in the Pandora.

Rado The Sun survived a failed bombing in 2015. Barzanov and those close to him acquired hotels and restaurants in Sunny Beach for tens of millions of levs. The large-scale change of ownership took place after the execution of Veselin Stoimenov – Vesso the Debel.

The shooting of Veselin Stoimenov – Vesso the Fat on January 7, 2016 is
reflected
OCCRP is the world’s largest network of investigative journalists against corruption and organized crime. Stoimenov is known as a liquidator of VIS-2 and owner of the numerous properties and establishments of the group after the death of Georgi Iliev. In 2013 publication Bivol revealed illegal construction in the Ropotamo reserve, carried out by a company of Stoimenov. In 2014, another
Bivol’s publication also revealed the scandalous contract for boat trips on the lower reaches of Ropotamo, a state umbrella and lawlessness in the occupied reserve.
The Bulgarian politicians in the Pandora Files revealed so far are Delyan Peevski
and Nikolay Barekov
, and Arben Havalev
. In addition, the files include large financiers, lawyers, individuals associated with multimillion-dollar fraudulent schemes, but also entrepreneurs with regular business, with no visible political protections, who have registered offshore companies and have announced them to the Bulgarian authorities.
The investigation of the BIRD.BG also revealed the secret offshore companies of the owners of First Investment Bank
Tseko Minev and Ivaylo Mutafchiev
who over the years have received loans of over a billion leva from their own bank. Their offshore companies have also been used in schemes for racketeering the business with final beneficiary Delyan Peevski.
The Pandora Files contains data from 14 offshore registration and maintenance companies whose files have been leaked to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). To study this array of nearly 12 million documents, the consortium brought together 600 journalists from around the world for a global investigation called the Pandora-Files. BIRD.BG is the Bulgarian partner in this investigation, which is the largest coordinated cooperation of investigative journalists to date.
